Pitbulls are the dogs that belong to one of the most versatile breeds on the planet. Much of this is owed to the activities that the dog once performed. The harshness and physical demands of the activities molded a strong, healthy, stable animal; one dog that anyone should be proud to own.

The breed actually requires a lot of thorough training. Even a minimum amount of training will produce a tranquil and obedient dog. This breed is not for everyone and suits best those who have already had dogs and are experienced owners.
Pitbulls need a lot of time to be spent on them and a lot of patience when training them. You need to socialize the dog thoroughly to combat aggressive tendencies and ensure the dog
stays under control when other dogs are present. It is recommended that you take the dog wherever you go so it could meet different people, animals and experience different situations.
These dogs are good with children and have a high pain tolerance. They will put up with rough child play as well as any other bred, but they should never be left alone with small or unfamiliar children. On the whole, Pitbulls are always eager to play with children and are very good with them.

Pitbulls make excellent guardians of property, but they are also companion dogs. When properly trained and socialized, they are very good dogs that make great family companions. Unfortunately, some choose to promote the fighting instinct in the breed, which gives it a bad name.
Pitbulls are very adaptable and will even do well in urban living provided that they have enough exercise or other positive outlets for their energy. Many Pitbulls are easygoing couch-potatoes, but can also be quite rambunctious until they mature. Maturity can come
somewhat late with this breed (2 to 3 years old in some cases). Pitbulls remain playful all their life and these dogs have a great sense of humor. Pitbulls will make you laugh like no other.
